Question 177
Reader: I was watching the One Piece anime the other day, (the adaption of Volume 7, chapter 57: "If You Have a Dream," where Zeff loses his leg). It said that Zeff lost his leg in a shipwreck. Was that changed for the sake of little kids who watch the show?
Oda: Exactly. An episode titled "Eat Your Own Leg" might be too much for small children. Television audiences can number in millions, and special precautions have to be taken. Kudos to the animators who create such wonderful works while being careful about things like that. If you want to show them your appreciation, send them a letter. It will cheer them up.
Question 173
Reader: Oda sensei!! I've been wondering about something for a long time. What are Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp, and Sanji's birthdays? Please tell me!!
Oda: I get this question a lot, so I guess I should answer it.
Luffy -- May 5
Zoro -- November 11
Nami -- July 3
Usopp -- April 1
Sanji -- March 2
Happy Birthday!! Was that too easygoing of me? All those who think I was too easygoing, raise your hands. Wow...a million people. Ah, well, what's done is done. I don't hear any complaints. Go tell their parents.

Question 176
Reader: Hello, Mr. Oda, how are you? Listen, I was assigned to write about my aspirations, so I asked my teacher if my topic could be that my second wish is to become a pirate, and my teacher said, "Get serious!" I am serious! --Saori
Oda: Of course you're serious. Who'd joke about a thing like that? You ask that teacher of yours, "What's wrong with being a plunderer!?" Okay?
